The Inundation at Sheffield.

Sheffield 1pm.

It will probably be long before an accurate account of the lives lost and the damage done can be given. Up to this time dead bodies are being picked up and it is reported that in one house alone 12 persons were found drowned. The police state that there are a great number of bodies in Neepsend Lane which cannot yet be got at.

Fire in Sheffield.

This morning about 2 o'clock an alarm of fire was raised in the neighbourhood of Kelham Island. The disaster was at the mills of Messrs Charles in Kelham Island and was caused by the inundation having driven the workmen from the premises to save their lives. Damage not yet known.
