Information from L Howsam: Long Sammy was very well known in the Grimesthorpe area of Sheffield and is believed to have lived in a brickyard there.

Information on lt;a href= http://www.sheffieldindexers.com gt;www.sheffieldindexers.com lt;/a gt; records the death of Samuel Cattall (nb should be Cattell) aged 56 at 2 Herries Road. (This was Fir Vale Infirmary, later the Northern General Hosptial). He is described as a 'sandwich man' and was buried on 7 July 1934 in City Road Cemetery. His parents are recorded on the same web-site as Annie Maria Cattell, died 1909 and Charles Cattell, died at Wadsley Asylum 1907, all buried in the same grave at City Road Cemetery.
