Notes:

Broad Oak School founded as a Charity School in 1729 for 6 poor boys or girls to be taught English. Around 1930 Ecclesall Church leased the building to Miss. Hambley and Miss Givens to run a private school. Ecclesall High School maintained a high reputation but in 1962 the two headmistresses and 80 pupils were given notice to quit.
