A bus ran from the centre of the town to Broomhill by W.H. Haigh and occasionally to Ranmoor. Later the service was taken over by Reuben Thompson, and Whittaker Collis linked up the connection by a two-horse bus from York Hotel to Ranmoor, and was driven by Sir John Brown's coachman.
