Information from: A Century of Sheffield 1835-1935 , Folio 2, David Robins (Arkell) Ref: 942.74 S There was one large house in Tower hill occupied in 1845 by Mr.Douglas Blackwell and in 1857 by a Mrs. Harrison who used it as a boarding house. It was so large that a public passage went through it from Rock Street. It boasted two staircases and two kitchens, one downstairs and the other upstairs, from which one could reach the Tower which gave wonderful views of the Don and Sheaf Valleys and a large part of Sheffield.
