Stumperlowe Hall is recorded as far back as 1397, considerably altered and rebuilt in 1854. The Hall has had many occupants including the Mitchel Family who owned the lands and property at Stumperlowe. Eventually in 1854 becoming the residence of Henry Isaac Dixon.
