Information on back of picture; Where the village of Derwent lies submerged save for the steeple of St. James's Church. This is how Ladybower Reservoir appeared until the recent drought. The dam was opened in 1945 by the King and Queen, and it forms the third and largest of the reservoirs created in recent years by the Derwent Valley Water Board. It covers an area 40,000.
