Several businesses occupied the same premises as Conquest Hosiery Ltd. stockroom, at various times. Their main premises were on the other side of Stanley Street at Conquest House. Information from Trevor Matthews, Conquest House is a relatively new name for this building. I grew up next door at 18 Stanley Street in the 1940s and 50s. At that time Conquest House was a check-trading company called Everton's. Not sure about the name of Everton's owner at the time but Thompson comes to mind.
