Plumpers Inn was originally on the site of J.C. Ryves, chemist (also demolished) at the junction of Sheffield Road and Town Street. Rebuilt and renamed Plumpers Hotel on this site in the 1890's; demolished to make way for M1 and Tinsley Roundabout; rebuilt at Sheffield side of the roundabout. Premises closed. The man with the walking stick is Harry Parker of Greasbrough Road, he used to have a horse and cart selling vegetables and fish on a marble slab. The man with the dog is George Wilson, a local builder on Sheffield Road.
