Plaque reads:

Percy Riley Corner. Dedicated to the memory of Percy Riley,1920-1986. Trade Union and Tenants leader, tireless worker for human rights and world peace, whose life combined countless struggles for a better world. During the Winter of 1984-85 Percy became a well known and loved figure. He stood daily at this spot in all weathers collecting in support of striking miners and their families.
