The Parkyn Jepson tower and house. Building began in 1887 and was finished in 1907.George Parkin suffered from consumption (TB) and believed that the fresh air from the prevailing westerly winds would make him better. He would charge visitors 1d to climb up the tower to have a look at the countryside. It was demolished in the 1960s.
