Notes:

The son of Samuel Staniforth and Alethea Macro of Darnall Hall. The family were a prominent family of Darnall but although Thomas was born in Sheffield he spent most of his life in Liverpool, where he and his son Samuel were involved in the African slave trade (slavery). Thomas Staniforth was Mayor of Liverpool in 1797 - 1798.
