Ruskin Museum, Meersbrook Park, opened 1890. Former Meersbrook House, built 1780 by Benjamin Roebuck, a private Sheffield banker. Later became the residence of the Shore family, also the owners of Norton Hall. Sold both estates in 1850.

Beauchief Abbey, off Abbey Lane. Founded by Robert Fitz Ranulf, Lord of Alfreton, around 1183. After the Dissolution in 1537, the site became the property of Sir Nicholas Strelley. The tower, although original, has lost its top storey and west window
