Previously the shops were a row of housing and retail units with the far shop being a confectioner in the early part of the 1900s and later became government surplus store. The corner shop was listed in the 1957 Sheffield Directory as belonging to Ernest Jennings Ltd., ironmongers which could explain the faded painted advertising signage (ghost signs) for Morphy Richards, domestic hardware, radiators and other signage which is undecipherable. |
