Original caption: Sheffield Family Hubs won the ‘Excellence in Infant Feeding Education’ award at the 2026 Yorkshire and Humber Infant Feeding Awards. One of the projects recognised by the award was funded by Start for Life and aimed to extend the Infant Feeding Peer Support service by developing a learning programme focused on breastfeeding. The programme was developed by Lauren Mysiw, a Community Early Years Practitioner working in the Infant Feeding team. Lauren has a background in teaching and was trained in breastfeeding, with support from Nawal El-Amrani, the BFI Lead for Sheffield Family Hubs. Together, they created a lesson linked to the Year 5 science curriculum, specifically the animals, including humans and living things and their habitats units.
