The public of Sheffield and its vicinity are respectfully informed, that the above establishment having been substantially repaired, and entirely re-decorated, is now open for the season, under the management of Mr. John Faucit Saville, (of the Theatres Royal, Haymarket, Adelphi, and St James's, London, and, the present lessee of the Nottingham and Derby theatres).

The Stranger, and the new drama of The Dream Spectre!

Monday evening, October 30th, 1848, the performance will commence with Shakespeare's tragedy of Richard the Third.

On Tuesday evening, October 31st, the performance will commence with the favourite play of The Stranger.

Overtures - previous to Richard the Third 'Sofonisbe' by pair; End of the play 'Valse die Magren' arranged by Mr Howard; Previous to Dream Spectre 'Overture to Balfe's Grand Opera of Diadeste. Each evening, the Redowa Polka by Miss Adeline Lonsdale and Mr Hunt. Ballad by Miss Ada Harcourt. Pas Seul by Miss Laura Sanders.

To conclude with, each evening, an entirely new, original, interesting, legendary drama, in three acts, replete with startling effects, and situations of terror, to be entitled The Dream Spectre! Or, The Legend of the Sleepers Shrift! The music of The Dream Spectre composed and arranged by Mr Howard.

Officers will be in attendance to preserve quiet and good order.

The box plan will be at the Theatre Royal and at Mr Thompson's, confectioner, High Street, where tickets and places for the boxes may be taken.
