The Giants, 'War' and 'Peace' were one of several European teams invited to Canada for the meeting of Giants, part of the Fete de la Nouvelle France to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec. After a parade watched by upwards of 100,000 people, approximately 100 Giants from across the world went on display at a huge marquee. The Giant in the foreground is Gertrude de la Tour from Bergen op Zoom in The Netherlands whom Sheffield City Morris visited in 2010. Sheffield City Morris Men were designated the City's official custodians and subsequently formed The Friends of the Sheffield City Giants. |
