On 4th July 1992 the Catalan Giants, 'War' and 'Peace' were officially presented to the Lord Mayor of Sheffield who accepted them on behalf of the City. They were placed in the care of Sheffield City Morris Men who were designated the City's official custodians and who subsequently formed The Friends of the Sheffield City Giants. The Giants, 'War' and 'Peace' were kept at the Kelham Island Industrial Museum where there was enough headroom to store them erected. This photograph was taken in the yard by the steam engine at one of Sheffield City Morris's monthly practice sessions. |
