At the time of photograph, part good, part poor condition. Owned by Duke of Norfolk and occupied by Burnett Hallamshire, Lorry Park, Tudor Wrought Iron Works and several cottages. Area includes a big barn, small barn, large range of stables converted to garages and several occupied cottages. A gin was an engine worked by horses for drawing coal out of a pit. It is an old word for mechanism by which weights are raised by winding. |
